IBM Celebrates the Modern Mainframe
COMUG Celebrates Mainframe History with 60 Years Pushing Performance Boundaries
Abstract:
Join the Central Ohio Mainframe User Group (COMUG) and IBM to celebrate the past present and future of the mainframe.
This April, the IBM S/360 achieves it’s 60th anniversary.
In this content-packed in-person session you can expect a look backward at the mainframe, but also a look forward, led by special guest Ray Newsome.
Ray is out of the IBM Poughkeepsie lab and is Principal Product Manager - IBM Z Hardware Strategy (a very cool guy!).
Expect a look at old numbers, and new numbers, and anticipate a great talk about “60 Years of Pushing Performance Boundaries with the Mainframe” by Scott Chapman (CTO, Enterprise Performance Strategies, Inc.).
Finally, please bring your bits of mainframe memorabilia (whether a coffee mug or a round reel) as we will conclude the day with some fun in a luncheon memorabilia show-and-tell roundtable.
Please join us.
Tuesday, April 09, 08:15am.ET to 01:30pm.ET at IBM 250 S. High St, Columbus OH, University Room.
